Am I alone? Someone on this board said not long ago that he sounds like a "crap grunge guitarist"...how very true.
Now that we have the some proper, official Shambles studio material, I can say without a doubt that I can't stand his playing. Hitting a bad note here and there is punky and cool, but when you use the same amateur trick every fucking tune you just sound like a hack.
His playing nearly ruins a solid album, as far as I'm concerned....

He's good at solos, but so was Giancarlos. Pete should stop trying to be Morrisey and pick the guitar back up on stage, because some songs sound shit without him.

I'll also give Mick Jones a (dis)honorable mention for another spotty production job. Too much coke up yer nose, Mick...
Say what you will about Bernard Butler being uptight and anal, but at least he's a professional who gets the best out of a band.
DLBITS Butler vs. DLBITS Jones, anyone?

i'll take credit for the pat walden slagging comments previously mentioned and not mentioned in this thread.
he's awful and should have his hands tied behind his back.
bernard butler's stuff is much better and all the pre UTB stuff like legs 11, you're my waterloo/breck road...whoever produced them...perhaps the libs themselves....has got the right idea about the libertines sound.
let's just hope carlos can come up trumps

I think the Stix and Stones riff has been there since the Branding Sessions, so credit for that goes to Peter or perhaps even Carlos.
Patrick's a C-level talent with enough dumb luck to have hooked himself to a true star.
Bernard gets further credit for the I Get Along EP, and the almighty Delaney....

Pat either sounds ace or fucking abysmal, there's no middle ground. I reckon a lot of Babyshambles stuff would sound better if Peter was playing chords as well.

Yeah I noticed that Stu.
If it wasn't for Adam and Drew the other songs would be shite. I didn't think much of Drew until hearing the album, he is a cracking musician.
