I was gutted they never played at that gig on Friday night, from outside they sounded like they were playing brilliantly in the soundcheck... well a little bass heavy, but that was all explained when we realised Peter didn't turn up. To make things worse I got back from London on Monday to find I'd won tickets for the gig tonight. It's just teasing me. Plain wrong.
BRMC more than made up for it though, brilliant.

robert turner told me what pete missed that day wasn't only the gig with BRMC but he also didn't turn up for the very important video shoot for Time for Heroes...we know exactly he was in Birmingham the night before (thursday night) seeing BRMC...WHAT'S UP?

I didn't realise he hadn't turned up for the Video shoot either... I wondered how they managed to loose him on the way to the gig. It all falls into place... well sort of.
He was in Birmingham? Mmmm. Well at least he was at the XFM gig last night.

Hey all Thanks for the ticket info, ive now got myself a ticket (none of my friends wanted to come However, its looking likely i wont get in because im 16. (also, i dont look 18). Is there any hope of me getting in? Any ideas? You over 18 guys probably dont want a bunch of immature kids in your gigs, but still, and besides im going by myself cos none of my friends wanted to come (school next day, get home late blahblah). so anyway any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, is anyone here under 18 and going? Ill probably end up going anyway jus to see if i can somehow get in...anyway thansk everyone. Bye, jules

Hey, well done on getting a ticket, when I followed that link Jim82 posted just to see if there were still tickets left it looked like it was sold out, so well done you!! I really feel for you, I do. The only reason I can think of for not allowing under 18's into gigs is because they might try and buy alcohol, which, if that's the only reason, is frankly pathetic. I don't really know what you can do, other than turn up, try and make yourself look a bit older maybe and give it a shot. Sometimes they're not bothered. The annoying thing is you see blatantly underage girls at Libs gigs, they don't seem to care about girls (can't think why...) Maybe you could see if you meet any young girls outside and tag along with them? Good luck anyway!

You couldn't get tickets Tim? I've got two and am planning on coming down from Scotland, but I'm not exactly sure if I can make it or not yet (work). If you want tickets you might be able to have mine (or at least one of them... depending on a friend).
It'll be worth a try getting in Jules... You never know, I still look young now and I used to get into over 18 gigs when I saw 15. Don't really have any tips, I suppose it'd help to go in with people who are older.

Holly - actually I did get tickets, yeah, I got the day before, stumbling upon them kind of by accident 'cos I didn't believe that it was sold out already (only sold out on ticketmaster)... I just followed the link the other day to see if Jules would still be able to get tickets, that's all, I was just being nosy!! ;D Thanks for the very kind offer though! It would be a real shame if you couldn't make it, that would be such dedication if you went!! Wow, that's one hell of a long way to come - hope you manage to get the time off work! If not, I'm sure there'll be someone out there who'd be happy to take them off your hands...

;D Hey all Thanks you guys youve given me loads of confidence, now im deffinitely going, and as someone said, even if i dont get in who cares (its the libertines so might as well try). Ive been going to gigs only for a while, year or so, and theyve all been at some of the larger venues like astoria and shepherds bush, and more mainstream bands like the vines, so no trouble getting into any of them. This'll be my first over18. wish me luck. (well dont waste your time replying to this, just wish me luck in a kind of telepathic way) (like mentaly). Anyway just to say thanks to everyone here for the encouragement and also where to get tickets. thank you all

I won tickets for the XFM gig, but I'd only JUST got back from London when I found out, but this girl from Germany flew over. she flew over from Germany! at a days notice to see them. I felt ashamed! I had a weeks notice for this one. And I've just heard this band I love from Glasgow are coming down to play. Fantastic!

That's the spirit, nice one! That girl coming over from Germany though, that's just madness! It's still a long way for you to come, right from the other end of the UK (almost)! At least you had more time to make plans for this gig, it will rock as ever, I'm sure... who's the Glaswegian band that are coming down?

Yeah... to be honest I think it'll probably take me a lot more hassel and time to get to London, but a heck of a lot cheaper! I'm not living in Glasgow at the moment and am in a godforsaken town a couple of hours from the nearest train station. Hey. It'll be worth it.
The band from Glasgow are called Kain.... they're ace. First time I saw them was supporting the Libs on their first Scottish date.

Ooh, I remember reading about them in NME, in comparison with The Libs, in fact, and I just read that The Libs were really raving about them in an interview too! I listened to a few tracks online from a Session In Scotland thing on Radio 1, they sound pretty good. I imagine they'll be good live, cool!
