This was sent to me a few weeks ago and i havent had chance to put it on the site yet, until then.....here it is
Death on the Stairs
-------------------
I know this clashes with the chords the Libs put in the album but this
is how I
play it and it sounds fine to me. Chiefly based on the Don't Look Back
Into the Sun version.
Best viewed with a screen resolution of 1024x768 or above or you'll get
some ugly
wrapping around.

From way far across the sea came an Erutrean maiden - she had a
one-track mind and eyes for me, half-blinded in a war -
Bm E

With a pale young Anglican who said he'd help her all he can, showed
her Jesus and his little unholy friend.
Bm Esus2 A

She had no mind to please him, just say, "Ta-ra" and leave him behind.

There's a little boy in a stairwell who said, "I hate people like you."
I got matches and cable TV for half of less than 50p.

We all clambered over the balcony, banging on the window, waking Steve,
bringing with undue love his unholy friend.
Bm Esus2 A A A
Singing you really need it you mustn't leave it behind.

So, baby, please kill me. Baby don't kill me, but stop bringing that
ghost round to my door. I don't want to see him anymore.
A D E

Please, kill me. Oh, baby, don't kill me, but don't bang on about
yesterday; I wouldn't know about that anyway.
A E F#m
Said to the mouse before if she loved anybody more than he.

It turns you into stone and now I'm reversing down this lonely street
to a cheap hotel where I can meet the past
D Bm Esus2

And pay her off and keep it sweet. She's sweet like nothing, no, she's
like nothing at all.

You know I've seen you there. How could I help but stare? It rips the
heart of you, baby.
Bm E

Now I've taken far too much to think or see or touch what's real. I'm
stranded on this street that paved my only way home.
Bm E A A
If really need him, well, you just won't leave him behind.
