do spelling mistakes really matter? its a forum. Well, sometimes it's more than just a mistake - a mistake seems like an accident, where we've gone wrong sumhow. Which is fine... and it's funny to rib people (i.e. me, Dust...) who actually care about their SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation And Grammar), especially when it is a simple mistake, a typo. But to imply that these ubiquitous errors are merely one-off mishaps would be wrong. This is because they happen with a regularity that definately implies simple lack of understanding of basic SPAG. This, to me, is a problem, because I view language as a tool, something we use to communicate effectively and efficiently. So like a shovel or a trowel, when it gets used incorrectly, it's worse at doing its job - that's why I find it important (wherever it's used) to use it as correctly as possible. I don't subscribe to this argument that in text messaging or on the internet that it's ok to get it wrong. It's not - it is just lazyness and often to the detriment of the typist/texter who's getting it wrong because they often don't get understood. So, yes, it is important. And please, no-one come out with the fact that they had a crap education, because while it may account for your basic misuderstandings, you have the resources to learn easily enough if you are able to reply to this post. Note: It's quite likely that I've made several errors in this post, but at least I try to get it right and appreciate correction for any smart-arses out there. I'm sure Dust will spell-check it (as he does with his own posts ;D) anyway.

Somehow Definitely Laziness My work here is done. 'Sumhow' was obviously deliberately mis-spelt. The other two however were definitely wrong, so thanks General. Or should I say thanks Microsoft Word Spellchecker . Anyway, I'd like to hear any oppositions to the argument if there are any.
