Yeah, we haven't had one of these posts for a while, have we - the old 'current listening' or whatever died a while ago now!
Agreed on Stellastarr* - I've been playing the album a lot lately after giving it a break for a bit, and it's excellent - far better than some albums which got far more hype and attention - the same goes for British Sea Power too, I'd say.
I really need to hear The Ordinary Boys properly, what I've heard so far hasn't grabbed me, really. I wanted to like them too, when they were first mentioned - I thought it was a cool name, and a good list of bands they were influenced by. We'll see, I guess.
I'm listening to at the moment:
The Shins Keane Guided By Voices The Rapture (only got the album for Christmas, it really is superb, one of the finest of last year, definitely) Eastern Lane (well, I liked 'Feed My Addiction', I've not heard much more - has anyone got the album?) The Darkness (seriously, the album ROCKS!)
That'll do for now.

I really like the new Keane single and the video is beautiful. They're playing in Bristol soon, but I think the Firey Furnaces are playing Cardiff the same night so I don't know which one to see. I also love the Von Bondies and am gutted that the NME show that they're playing in Cardiff is sold out.

Yeah got the Eastern Lane album which is good, wouldnt mind going to see keane but their gig at the roadhouse has sold out. Stellastarr* is def one of my fav albums at the moment. I dont mind the coral album either, its just exactly what they said it was going to be, no obvios singles but a load of good songs thrown together because they can.
Snow patrol have always been good and its about time they got a bit of success. I prefered spitting games to run though, though run is good too and deserves its chart success, and the zutons didnt do too bad in the old chart did they?

They're absolutely amazing live as well. The only reason I didn't get tickets is that I live in Cardiff and it can be a hassle getting back. Dammit. The new single is very good though, although I've not seen the video. I'll probably pop along to the Fiery Furnaces in Cardiff, just to see what they're like live. I really liked the album at first, I thought it was really different and interesting, but there's only so much you can take of it, I find, and I haven't felt inclined to play it in a while, to be honest. Damn the NME show too! Just as I was thinking I might go along... GRRRR!

Keane in Bristol sold out.?! Sob, sob, my day is ruined. I taped them on Channel 4 last night and had a quick look before going to work. That song is playing in my mind's jukebox all day. Next time I see a band I like advertised I'm just going to get a ticket and not arse about waiting to see who can get off their lazy backsides to come with me.

Aww. Yeah, I taped them too. I don't listen to the radio much these days, not now Zane Lowe's polluting the airwaves, so I hadn't heard the Keane single before last night. Shame they didn't have them playing it all the way through, but it sounded really really good. Incidentally, if it's any consolation, the whole of their tour is sold out, apart from Northampton, the last I looked, so they've obviously made an impression on some people already! Thought there'd be more than one Libs live track too, but it was nice to see Pete throw his guitar into the crowd, if nothing else. Lovely!

I've left a message on the Keane website asking if anyone will take pity on my and sell me a ticket but I don't hold out much hope. Can't believe they've got under my skin so quickly. I thought the Libertines footage was good but left me wanting more. I'm excited that Bristol has now sold out (got my tickets ago ago - smug git) which makes the tour a complete sell out apart from the extra night in Brixton.

Johnny Cash - American IV: The Man Comes Around
I'm an american...so maybe this means more to me...but this is the last testament from the Man in Black. Spiritual and stunning.

I still think that the best album of 2003 was 'Hail to the Thief' by Radiohead, are there any other avid radiohead/libertines fans ou there because i haven't met many people who like them both. Oh, and if there's anyone out there who prefers muse to radiohead as well, i'm up for an argument.
Another great band is British Sea Power - heard their album for the first time the other day and it's bloody good.
