Went to my first gig in a while last night, the fat truckers and the rapture at the mancs uni. After selling my spare ticket to a tout for a measly fiver (after he originally offered me £2) things could only get better, not much better with the Boggs, first band on, but their scarfs were good. The Fat Truckers lived up to my expectations, love their album and their live show was just as good if not better, their dancing was first class , their attempt at a manchester accent was crap though. The Rapture didnt even try a 'hello manchester', they didnt say much really but their music speaks for itself, a mixture of bangin dance tunes like 'i need your love' and nice slow ones like 'open up your heart', though 'out of the races..' was the highlight for me.
Why did that turn into a review?

I went to see The Rapture on Saturday night. I thought the Boggs were superb, loved them. Been wanting to see them since I couldn't make it to their gig last Novemeber, didn't disappoint.
I only watched a couple of Fat Truckers songs then went to meet some friends, didn't do anything for me, though their finger dancing was quite amusing.
The Rapture were superb, as always. They're such a brilliant live band. Open Up Your Heart is always a highlight, and predictably, so is House Of Jealous Lovers. Crowd went mental.
Its all a bit of a daze now.. turned into a long night. Still recovering now.

come on, the fat truckers are one of the best live band of the year FACT. how many lead singers can do 2 or 3 songs, with out singing . and jim was you at the gig, beacause the rapture lead singer was in the crowd by the first song, and the rest of the gig the front two were buzzing like no other gig i seen them before.
and the boggs were shit, but very nice scarfs
