Look, as much as I love The Libertines & DPT (Babyshambles leave me cold) no-one "carried" anyone else. It was a partnership - they brought different talents & attitudes to it which is what made The Libs so glorious. What's so hard to understand about that? The whole Pete v Carl bollocks is just so lame.
And yes Carl is the real "musician" if you like but your inference about Pete not being able to sing needs to be qualified. His voice has been ruined as a result of his drug-taking. He had a beautiful voice once as anyone who's listened to the Libs early stuff would know - go back & listen to Legs XI.
