I happened upon this (click here) this morning, from rockfeedback.com, quite an interesting read... if you go to the review of Glastonbury itself there's a decent-sized review of their set too, which they seemed to like!

i read that interview, and to be quite honest, it looks like carl has a handle over things...if anything goes sour and pete officially does not return to the libertines then as much as i hate to say it- the libertines do have a future wihtout pete

Hmm, I don't know... not in the long term I don't think. I think he's just trying to put on a brave face to be honest, for him (to make things easier) and for the fans... I know it's about the songs and Pete himself keeps saying that it's not about personnel and all that, but I don't think the band can really exist without both Pete and Carl... just my opinion though.

In one of Pete's .org posts he asked whether it was the songs or something special about the line up which the fans loved the most.
Of course we all love the songs, but I'm sure most of us would much rather see Pete perform with the rest of the band than on his own. If things are really that bad that he doesn't think things can go back to the way they were I don't think a Peteless band would survive for long. I thought Manchester and New Brighton were good but no where near as good as every other Libs gig I've been to. Who else couldn't help but cringe when Carl and Nick played to each other?

Yeah, that's true - Carl and Nick playing to each other just wasn't right at all, or it didn't look right at least... They'll never be as magical live without Pete, although I did think Manchester was superb, but that was to do with the crowd being fantastic, and the venue giving off a great sound and being perfect more than anything... I'd really give anything to see them live with Pete back again, but it's got to be what everyone wants...
