Watching a gig sober made a change for me, £2.50 for a CAN of shite carling just didnt tempt me for some reason, and i had to be in work on sunday morn, all the bands were really good tho.
Zutons quality as usual and really got the crowd going early, as did the Basement. The bees had the same effect on me as that backing music they play in between acts and i dont know whether thats good or bad. The thrills seem really popular now after big sur and got the crowd goin even more.
The good old days, time for heroes and dont look back into the sun were my libertines highlights and boys in the band was good with john doing the backing. Its only when you go to these sorts of gigs like new brighton and the manchester academy, you realise how popular the libertines are, and wonder how the album only got to about 30 in the album chart.
Credit to Carl for all the effort he still puts in at these gigs despite being pelted with beer and shouts for pete.

. he really held interest of the punters and made the band a big gang of new fans!!(most of which are the scouse arseholes that said "they're fuckin shite" in the beginning- dickheads iknow but at least they've seen the light!!!!)
