Well I went to the Coachella festival yesterday. It was pretty cool, the Hives were fantastic and hilarious. The blue man group was insane, and Groove Armada can suck it. The Libertines were supposed to play at 11pm. So me and my bro being huge fans head on over there to get a good spot up close. So we crowd in there, only to realize the tent is running about an hour and 15 minutes behind schedule, and the libs will play after "groove armada". So we squeeze through the brainless dancing people to get out of there, and go get sit down somewhere (my back was killing me ;p)
So an hour later at like 12:30 we head back and get in the front again. Watch the people set it all up. Then pete comes out and sprayed us all with champagne. Then they played "horrow show", with the microphone not loud enough, but it was great nonetheless. They go into "up the bracket" and about half way through..the mic cuts out, and pete picks it up and throws it to the ground...and storms backstage. The crowd was kinda confused..and then a lady comes out and say's "it's past curfew, so you guys have to leave".
so we're like what the junk? So my bro leads me and my friend backstage so we can at least see if we can see the band. So we go back there, talk to pete who apoligizes for not being able to play. Then we see carl and we all shook his hand, and he said "sorry bout that guys, they cut the power on us"
So it was kinda disappointing, but rewarding as well. I just hope they come back to california sometime soon, with a better organizer than coachella. but needless to say it was awesome.
