What a fantastic night had by all at the Nottingham Rescue Rooms (although the Bouncers / Security were very heavy handed, thought it was gonna go off at one point)
It was a sell out, gig capacity of only 500 and i am sure the 'tines' could have sold out Rock-City if it wasn't for "Bowling For Soup" being on, basically their guitarist wouldn't have fitted into the Rescue Rooms.
It was a nice intimate affair the boys even had time to sign a few autographs and get a few photos with fans before "The Sights" or "Kill City" had taken to the stage. Both supports were good, and i thought the venue had good audio system and even made the supports sound strong.
The Libertines took to the stage at 10pm where the crowd were getting restless.............but the boys didn't dissapoint with their opening number of "Horrorshow" and their other classics "I get along" "Skagman" during the final song Pete stopped the band and pulled some of the audience up onto the stage to make their night or piss the bouncers off. Libertines took to the stage for about 1 hour on their final UK date before leaving for Germany.
They were fucking awsome.

YEAH! the libertines were fuckin awesome last night!!
The bouncers were beefy ponces who were pissing everyone off!! cunts!! They didn't spoil the night though, as the crowd, with help from pete, managed to all get on the stage! I had my hands round pete's half naked, sweaty torso as he tried to pull up on stage, but i couldn't lift my fat arse and ended up being shoved all the way back by a mad, yet fantastic crowd! What i didn't get though, was the sound in-between each song. there was a horror type, evil laughing and then an audience applauding, it was weird! anyone know?
the only thing im gutted about is that i didn't see 'The Rabbi', damn it!

Last night was def. ace! I came down from cambridge and had seen the libs there (n had a spliff with pete outside the boatrcae cambridge! Pwooor). The old man laughing has been used before...thats why the libs are so adictive its the added things like the sfx n the outfits (the war wound on petes arm n the fake tat) and the general mahem!!!! I was in the red top with loads of tassles if anyone saw me about. Me and my friend were the ones shouting 'riot' when the bouncers failed to give us enough water at the front!! Cunts! anyway am still hyped...I want to get onstage!! I say the sights last week n got bought a beer by the lead singer who was so drunk he'd knocked mine over! I didnt know they were playing again so ace supprise! Also kill city had def. Improved since I last saw them support the libs.... I thought they were a bit dull musically but nice peeps last time. Party till u puke n all that!

I keep reading people being mean about the Sights. They're bloody brilliant. Maybe not best suited to be supporting the Libs, but they are wonderful. Awww the singer is so tiny.

I thought the Sights were good too, like I thought the Detroit Cobra's were good at the Astoria.
Anyway, that laughter between songs started at the XFM gig, although god knows why...

ive got the sights album and its quite good, its nothing special but there are some good songs on there, its a shame other bands are setting such high standards for the others to follow!

Which one have you got? We Got What We Want? Thats the best one, took me a while to really get into it, but now I love it. Nothing better to get an annoying song out of your head with either!
