Argg ive just lost all my bets i put on ladbrokes.com, i thought they'd give the vines some sort of an award after the 52 front covers they had on the magazine last year. so i put a few bets on them...apart from the one they won oh well
but the good news is the libertines won an award, they'll clean up at every awards ceremony next year so i can win some money back off ladbrokes.

Aah, unlucky Jim - it would seem the readers of NME aren't quite as devoted to The Vines as the writers, although having said that I can't believe Get Free won Best Single, gah! But anyway, WOOOHOO!! I was so chuffed when I saw The Libertines won Best New Band - heheh! I really wasn't expecting them to win, although of course it's only right that they did, they are the best new band not just of this year but in a very long time, but I thought The Datsuns'd win it or something. Yay for The Libs, here's to you winning your money back same time next year!

I was pleasantly surprised too. I thought The Vines were going to win best new band. Libs deserved it of course, should have had best British band too. Oasis? Hmmmm what a joke!
Did anyone see the NME Awards footage on T4 on Sunday? Rumour has it John actually spoke! I'd love to see it...

Dammit, why do The Libs keep appearing on T4? That's twice now, I'm sure, and I've been blissfully unaware on both occassions... a bit of a collectors item though, John saying something! Surprised he could get a word in...

when?! were they on T4 today? i saw them before when they first appered- i think that really benefitted them, because Time for Heroes going to number 20. anyway, does anybody know what they done there? did they perform again? or did they speak? what did they say or what did they talk about? and i know these are a lot of question but i just cant believe i missed them! oh and how did they look- i mean did they look sober and wake or did they look tired, drunk/stoned? i didn't expect them to do any tv stuff- i thought they were in europe somewhere :/ i think i should check the tour dates again. i know they are doing Rescue rooms sometime this month around the 21st or 22nd. those tickets are sold out by the way, i saw the list of bands that were peforming, and theirs was the only show that was sold out! way hay!

I'm just going on what Holly said - I think it was just coverage from the NME Awards show, that's all, not playing or anything, so hopefully it won't have been anything that won't be on the NME Awards show coverage, tonight (Wednesday, 19th), Channel 4, 11.30pm (I think)... so they probably were just at the NME thing for the day or whatever, and then off somewhere else...
If you've not got tickets for Nottingham, try ebay.co.uk, there might be some on there, last minute people who can't make it!

I never actually saw it, got a phone call on my way back to Glasgow on Sunday from a friend saying John had taken center stage during an interview on T4 from the Awards. They didn't play live or anything, it was just footage from the awards and they interviewed a couple of bands... Noel Gallagher, Ryan Adams, Coldplay and The Libs.
Wish I'd seen it but I was somewhere in the middle of nowhere sitting next to someone listening to the Queen musical. Erghh.
Was the Awards footage on Ch4 last night then? No? It wasn't listed but I asked my flat mate to tape it for me just in case.

I checked the listings last night and I couldn't find it. Shame really, I wanted to see Nick Jago standing around on stage. After the Libs aftershow last week, I'll never think of Nick as "cool" again...

Mmm, I recorded it too, just in case it was coming up in a particularly deceptive disguise, but alas I now have 40 minutes worth of the 'best' of Born fucking Sloppy Grr! 'Tis a bit of a mystery why they weren't on though, unless they've been moved to next week or something.

Wednesday night was a bit of a blur but I seem to remember a tv showing them around 1 ish. I don't know if that was channel four or not though, I was in a bit of state at the time. I don't even know whether it was the NME awards that were on anyway, lets hope that it wasn't and that they'll be on some other time.
