Well, got back from leeds today and the libertines were great (esp time for heroes). I thought the best bands were The Music, libertines and strokes. Hoggboy and British sea power i also enjoyed. What about the fires and riots? i got some good pictures of the toilet block that was set alight, looked quite good, didnt look to good this morning though. They wont have it there next year then.
If anyone has any reviews or pictures of the libertines set please send them so i can put em on the site!

reading was rather unexciting. only sumo wrestling, no riots. libertines were amazing, despite carl's amp dying after horror show. a 10 minute wait followed while 5 techy blokes worked out it was a dodgy lead. while we waited we were treated to a performance of a song i didn't recognise as a 3 piece. fun. interpol, the beatings and the pattern were highlighs. and who the fuck was the half naked guy who sang soul songs before the pattern and beatings?

That was Har Mar Superstar...he recently toured with the strokes in the US and then the pattern in the uk.

Yeah, I was at Leeds too, and The Libertines were superb, as ever. Horror Show was possibly my favourite, and The Skag And Bone Man was pretty damn fine too (straight after What A Waster). The Strokes were top as well, as were Pulp, and British Sea Power were great and weird in equal measures - I think the singer was a little drunk, don't you?! Very good live band though, loved it when they chucked that huge branch of tree off the stage and it sailed over the security guys' head, landing right in front of his face!!
I know this is hard to believe, but I didn't see a thing of the riots! I saw people trying to bring the lights down on the way back to our tent, but that was about it... I must have seen about 3 or 4 policemen all weekend, I kid you not... I'll eat my hat if it goes ahead next year though.

I didn't physically get a set list, but I'm pretty sure it ran like this at Leeds:
Horror Show Up The Bracket Vertigo Time For Heroes What A Waster The Skag And Bone Man Begging (Long Version) I Get Along
Begging had rather a large gap in the middle, where it was quite hard to tell whether they were still playing the same song, or whether Pete was just off his head! It looked like he'd decided to stop the song and everyone else didn't know what he was up to, but it did say 'Long' on the setlist (my friends got a copy)

It was long and it looked like theyd fucked it up and then just made it up as they went along, but you dont know. I think har mar superstar is shit, i saw him support the pattern and me and me mate ended up going back to the bar, which i dont often do when bands are playing.

Did you enjoy The Pattern at Leeds too? I think they get better every time I see them. Top stuff, and thoroughly nice blokes as well.

I can recommend the Pattern's album.
Some songs remind me of the Damned around 'Music For Pleasure' (which is a positive comment because I like the Damned as well from that time)

The Pattern album's v.good, Thunder Us is my personal fave. I'm glad it came with the words, cleared up the whole "fucking Burrrr" business, fur - it seams so obvious now. I never saw the riots either, infact Tim we shared a tent. Hello. Have you heard word from the Cavaleras about whether Gay Dogs can support in bristol? Last I heard Kevin was asking Bani about it, but I haven't spoken to them over the weekend (roxys in london). Fingers crossed they are, and if so I'll see you there.
Ali.

Hey Ali - I wondered whether it might be you or not when I saw you'd registered - haha! Hello! I haven't actually, I just got an e-mail from Claudia but it didn't say anything about a support slot, so I don't know. I was going to ask her next time I wrote anyway, so I'll try and find out. Come along even if they're not supporting, it's going to be a great gig! Shame you missed the Leicester one, it was top! Hope to see you there!

I was round at the Cavalera's for tea tonight, they're waiting for a confirmation email form Kevin, but things look pretty hopeful. They played their set for me down in the practise shed and it sounded great! It clocks in at just six minutes, one of the songs is only ten seconds! They've really improved over the last month or so. If all's well and good I'll see you Thursday!
Ali
ps. They're both waiting for emails from you, chop chop!

Ten seconds??! Hehe, they could have thought of another verse or something!!! ;D Yeah, hope to see you Thursday!
I e-mailed Claudia, but I haven't heard from Roxy since the Leicester gig - she doesn't e-mail me as much - tell her I'm waiting for her to write first!!!!
