Now I've finally surfaced from my pit - sorry, bed - just a note to say it was small, sweaty and rocked! The Libertines came on pretty late but weren't the last band on. They played a pretty short set - Up The Bracket, Horror Show, Mayday, Death On The Stairs and I Get Along - but it was all fairly frantic and packed. They sounded great, as always, and had a very up for it crowd.
What else.... Danny Goffrey was there but I don't actually remember hearing him play (no, I wasn't *that* drunk) because he may have gone after we left (which was around 1.30am I think), and so was Pearl from Powder. Um, we took the piss of Carl for drinking Smirnoff Ice, then cadged fags off him... Gary was lovely as always, John looked lost, and Pete appeared to be on another planet when we spoke to him, although us being fairly drunk probably didn't help.
So top night really...

Huzzah! Sounds like a top gig - aah, if only I actually *lived* in London... dammit, oh well, I did see them once over the weekend so I shouldn't complain... Sorry, me being thick probably, but I don't get the whole Pearl from Powder (PFP) thing... who are Powder? And why was it just Pearl, and not Pearl + Powder (= Kill City x The Candy's / Trouser Press ;D - sorry, a little joke to amuse myself...)? Anyway, I believe the presence of Danny Goffrey Supergrass can be best explained by the fact that DGS is in fact PFP's husband... (I nearly typed wife then... it's very early...) - might have somthing to do with it...

God, knowing about Powder is probably me showing my age. Powder were an extremely iffy indie band at the height of Britpop, with only one passable tune to their name - the vaguely embarrassing "Aphrodisiac". Pearl was the lead singer. They were fairly dreadful and disappeared without trace when Britpop did. Thank god...

It was certainly worth waking up with twenty minutes to get into work and discovering I was still drunk...
