Anyone else a little disappointed with the whole tab site closing down rubbish? I mean. I know none of that facts about it really, and rarely use them anymore. But i think it's ridiculous.

They where on about closing them all down because it's making sheet music obsolete: nobody's buying it. It was on the BBC News Stu. Broaden your horizons, open your mind...

yeh They where on about closing them all down because it's making sheet music obsolete: nobody's buying it. It was on the BBC News Stu. Broaden your horizons, open your mind... if they ban tabs that is a true travesty considering most tabs are just done by people like me and you then who cares also what about artists who dont have sheet music?

Dunno mate. That's what they said though. I can't see how they are going to police it effectively.

Well. Mass tab servers like MXTabs are being targeted first, that's already down apparently, although it's too much effort to check, and i've heard that they're going to take down ultimate-guitar and other major players soon too. There's a bit of insight into it on www.dylanchords.com i seem to remember. It is a travesty. Tab Sites are how i learnt to play. x

I signed the petition, and read the past blogs. I'm still not sure i understand their angle on banning them, even having read quite a lot now...

And sheet music, well for popular music at least. The sort of things i do. Like say the Libertines one, they're like 15 or 18 pounds no? That's over a pound a song...

And one imagines that the band see even less of that than they do of that of the actual music revenue...

Paddingtons, Cribs, Babyshambles, Arctic Monkeys, most Libertines songs aren't in any tab books.
What if you get stuck on a song while trying to tab it yourself. Will it be illegal to ask for help? Ok, probably not. So how about helping someone out on a forum? Putting on MySpace for people to see? Where do you cross the line?
And they can get fucked if they think I'm paying for a tab book if there's only a couple of songs off it I wanna learn.
