anyone else a bit dissapointed with it? thought the writing was a bit too NME stylee? A lot of it took the thought away from the reader (parts where it poses what pete or carl would be thinking as a question to the reader.... "surely carl would be able to appreciate that?" for example.) Never been a fan of that sort of thing - feels it negates the readers ability to think for theirselves
Some of the Photographs are great though ;D

I often have the same experience whilst reading through the usual pile of books that come my way...what's that new indian thriller called?, 'Kama Sutra' or something like that....couldn't really get into the plot but the pictures were great...my wife really enjoyed it too.

so whats your fucking point mate? whats the point in having a forum if every time you try to make a point some smartarse has to come on and be "funny".
I was dissapointed with Bound Together is all - thought Kids in the Riot was a better read - more insight, better written. Point of the book int it?

I got into it a bit more towards the end. i thought it rushed through the early part of their career pretty quickly. Kids in the riot is good because its based entirely on interviews rather than journalism so you get a better picture of what Carl/Pete etc were thinking/feeling at the time. Straight from the horses mouths sort of thing. The only Pete bio ive got is "on the edge". My dear old mum bought it me for christmas. Bless her! ;D Im gong through a heavy libertines phase at the moment - i absolutely loved them when they were out but i missed all the gigs and that through illness, which im gutted about - makes me feel like i missed out on "my band".

Missed the libertines through illness? What, were you in a coma for two years or summink. no i was Schizophrenic, which made actually leaving the house and getting involved with people an incredibly difficult thing to do. i saw them a couple of times (supporting the strokes early 2002, under the big top with the coral 2003, birmingham academy 2004), but i feel like i missed out on the whole "scene", if id have felt then how i feel now im pretty sure id have been going down to london for all the whitechapel gigs etc. Im better now tho ;D

I just bought "Bound Together" today, I'm a huuuge Libertines fan but I've just never got round to buying it, other things to buy etc! Only just started reading it, seems ok, learned some new stuff about their beginnings, random stuff like how Pete asked Carl to teach him "This Charming Man" the first time they met, but Carl didn't know it.....I love that song!! I just found that kind of cool... Well, I've had a quick flick through and the photos are amazing, there are some pretty iconic images in there...I think the album cover of The Libertines has to be one of the most iconic images in music in the last decade, its destined to be remembered!!! Also, I just love the "libertine" tattoos Pete and Carl have, they're simple but beautiful!!! Sorry for such a long post, i talk a lot
