i never notice how many people have actually viewed the threads, that pete in rehab ones popular, i didnt know that many people came on here.
I agree though, saying theres 100+ members theres not enough action.
Im getting excited about the single anyway. Ive got a 2 track promo with the new death on the stairs on it, but ive yet to find a reasonably priced 6 track promo, ill have to wait.

I've got one of those promos too - what did you reckon to the new version of 'Death On The Stairs' then? I really didn't like it at first, I thought it was way too slow, and the vocals were worse, not better, but it really has grown on me enormously since then. The backing vocals really add a bit of magic, and the way some of the lyrics are spat out I love too. Once it grows on you, it's very hard to resist, I think.

did you win one of the six tracks on ebay?
i like the new version, like you say, the new backing adds a bit extra to the tune, its similar to the backing at the end of dlbits ooooh aaaaah I still like the one from the evening session the best, speaking of which ive not heard it for ages, does anyone know where i can download it??

I did actually yeah, it hasn't arrived yet though - sorry if I outbid anyone! I didn't recognise anyone as being from here though. There's one going for £26 on there and it's still not finished!
Yeah I like the extended ending too, I think it sounds good to play it out like that a couple of times before it ends... great stuff.
Do you mean the Xfm version? I'm not sure there's actually anywhere you can get hold of it now, to be honest... it might be worth asking if anyone on any of the other forums has it, because it's a cracking version.

yeah its the XFM version, i think my memory got the same virus my hard disk got. I used to have all the mp3s on my PC until that bastard virus. I thought it might still be on XFM but they seem to have changed the libertines songs round.
i recognised your pseudotim thing that you had from the days when i used to go on the NME board, when i was browsing the dlbis promos on ebay.
theres a babyshambles going for 20+quid aswell

yeah i used to have em all on here but they went with the rest of the stuff on my computer when i had a virus. itd be great if you could email me them, use jamesnalton@yahoo.com, that has 6mb of space free methinks.
Many thanks!
Ill get some mp3s on sometime this week, i might sneak the new version of death on the stairs on and see if they take my site down again. I think that sally brown mp3 still works does it not?

Nice review as well... can't wait to hear Skint and Minted now, hopefully my promo should turn up soon. Did you like the new 'Death On The Stairs' straight away or was it a grower? It was certainly a bit of a shock to the system the first few times I heard it, I have to say.

Ah thanks It did give me a bit of a shock at first too, but not in a bad way, I think they're both growers but I liked DOTS more instantly than Tell The King.

Where did you blag the copy from? Nice review aswell. it should be the high point in their career, itll get them a lot of new fans anyway.
The xfm version of death on the stairs should now be in the downloads section, its the best version by far, though anyone could produce that song and it'd still sound good, its such a classic tune.
