Well, I was at the Forum gig last night and have to say it was the best I've seen yet! The band were absolutely on fire, and before they came on Peter introduced the Wolfman, who, according to him, was from Tunbridge Wells but had never played there. He played a couple of songs which confused the 14 year olds, and then the band came on.
I didn't get a copy of the setlist, but I think it was basically the same as at Southend. Horror Show sounded especially good - Peter was all over the place. Actually, they both were - barging into each other and knocking the microphone stands about. During I Get Along, half the audience decided to invade the stage, much to the amusement of the band. At one point Peter was egging them on, despite the bouncer trying to stop them. The band then disappeared off stage, before coming back to do The Boy Looked At Johnny, which sounded absolutely amazing.
What else can I add....? The support band, The Candys, were really good, much better than Kill City. Carl was a lot more with it than last time, and we ended up chatting to him for quite a bit.
Tim Tim Tim, U were there at Tunbridge Wells? Why didn't I see you? It's Mila here, friend to the Gay Dogs girls...they still speak so fondly of you. I was just back from Bangkok on Monday and went to see them two consecutive nights at Cambridge and Tunbridge Wells...they are just a good cure for my jet lag. We should have met...can I add that bit when Pete kicked Carlos off stage to be scrum by the people? Milx
I wasn't there at Tunbridge Wells, I was at London though, I think the Gay Dogs said you were back so I thought you'd be there - I looked out for you but you weren't there, were you? It's a shame though, long time no see - since the first time they played Cardiff, I believe... are you going to any of the Supergrass support shows?
I speak highly and fondly of the Gay Dogs too!! Such a shame they couldn't support in Liverpool in the end, but I'm sure there'll be loads of other gigs!
You said you wanna stand by my side, darlin' your head's not right...
